Civil engineers support the delivery and maintenance of infrastructure in South Africa. With unemployment at unprecedented levels, civil engineers are required to ensure that budgets allocated to infrastructure projects are thoughtfully designed, specified and implemented such that the process of such delivery will allow income transfer to the poor through job creation, training, utilizing local resources and small business incubation.

Kydan Consulting is a start up, Civil Engineering company which provides socio economic support services to built environment practitioners and small businesses. Headed by a registered professional civil engineer with vast experience working with all spheres of government on job creation, training and socio-economic development, we understand the importance of applying a practical, realistic and balanced approach to implement socio economic initiatives to optimize impact without compromising the required project outputs.

We have committed to creating opportunities for socio-economic impact through the built environment and will strive to research and investigate avenues of sustainability for people who have had the opportunity to participate in such programs. We will investigate creative mechanisms to support growth and a gradual reduction in reliance of support programs thereby creating sustainable start ups which are capable of contributing to job creation and the economy.
